Dear John,
Seven percent. That’s how many western bumblebees remain, compared to their
population just two decades ago. Act fast to save the bees: Rush a $10 contribution to Friends of the Earth.

The western bumblebee was once one of the most populous bee species in the
country, ranging from New Mexico’s deserts to the tundra of northern Alaska.
Today, this once-common pollinator and 40 percent of wild pollinators like them
are on the brink of extinction -- driven in large part by toxic pesticides like
Bayer-Monsanto’s neonicotinoids.
Bees pollinate a whopping 75% of food crops, from fruits and nuts to vegetables.
Without them, many of the most nutritious foods we rely on would be in short
supply.
Help save bees like the western bumblebee with a $10 donation to Friends of the

[[link removed]]Bees are canaries in the coal mine. Their deaths warn us that the way we’re
growing food will lead to ruin.
A key culprit in the decline of bees, butterflies and other pollinators is the
massive use of toxic pesticides. Scientists are warning of a “second Silent
Spring” and the potential for ecosystem collapse like we’ve never seen if we
don’t shift away from these poisons.
But mega-corporations like Bayer-Monsanto are doubling down on bee-killing
pesticides -- and Congress and the Trump administration have given them a free
pass. Instead of banning them, they have allowed more widespread use of
pesticides that are killing massive numbers of bees.
Please chip in now to support the urgent work to phase out toxic pesticides.

[[link removed]]John, scientists are warning us that the biodiversity
crisis we face is on par with the climate crisis -- in truth, each one
accelerates the other. From bees, to butterflies, to children, to farmworkers,
we are feeling the impact of toxic pesticides on our environment and our health.
We need to get these poisons out of our food system and out of our environment.
With your support, we can get food and grocery retailers to stop selling food
grown with bee-killing pesticides. We will build support to ban the worst
pesticides the local, state, and federal level. We will fight to break up the
monopolistic stranglehold that Big Ag has on our food system and our government.
Our plans to protect pollinators are big, bold, and comprehensive -- but we
can’t do this without your support.
The bees need us now -- before it’s too late. Help save bees from
Bayer-Monsanto’s toxic pesticides: Donate to Friends of the Earth today.
