Mayor Levar Stoney has kept pretty busy for the past few weeks -- battling the NRA to show leadership on common-sense gun control, raising wages for city employees, and working to create new jobs and opportunities in Richmond. And now, there’s one more thing to tackle: our big end-of-quarter deadline is Monday at midnight.
This quarter is a little different than previous ones, because it’s our last big FEC deadline before the Virginia General Assembly election in November. Mayor Stoney has been working hard to support candidates trying to swing seats blue in Richmond and across our state. But we have to make sure that we have the resources to keep it up.
Many of the most competitive State House and Senate races are right here in Richmond and our suburbs. That means Richmond is going to decide the future of the Virginia General Assembly and the future of our state.
We can’t afford to fall behind -- Mayor Stoney needs to keep up the pace so that we can continue elevating candidates up and down the ballot.
