Friend,

I wanted to be the first to let you know we hit our ambitious end of month goal of $5,000! I know we would not have been able to hit this milestone without you, team, so thank you.

Today is also the first day of Black History Month; focusing on Black Family, representation, identity and diversity. 

As the daughter of an immigrant, I know how important family is and how we need to continue to fight for the rights of the Black community.

Last summer, this nation faced a reckoning after the murder of George Floyd, and now we need to work together to make this country a more equitable place. President Biden has taken some important first steps towards racial equity, but we must continue the fight. 

As the representative from New York’s 9th congressional district, I will continue to work for you. 

So, today, on the first day of Black History Month, we celebrate the legacy of those who came before us and paved the way.
