Last year was tough for every Australian. Some of us missed out on weddings and birthdays. Some of us had to say goodbye to our loved ones forever. Some even had to say goodbye over the phone. 

2020 was a tough year, but 2021 will have its own challenges. The pandemic is still raging around the world. There are still tens of thousands of Aussies stranded overseas. And we haven’t even started our vaccination program.

Scott Morrison is clearly worried there’s pain ahead for Australians – there’s talk he could call an early election.

The Liberal Government is inept and failing Australians on the most important issues. Everywhere you look, problems are mounting up. And all they can focus on is looking after their mates while you lose out. 

Only Labor is on your side. 

This Government failed to protect our most vulnerable people in aged care homes. They failed to bring stranded Australians home. They failed to set up a national quarantine system. They’ve failed at every turn to take responsibility. 

The Liberals spend money on swimming pools in their electorates while they leave millions of people off JobKeeper. 

With the Liberals, it’s all about jobs for mates. There’s no accountability. No responsibility. 

And just as they’re about to cut JobKeeper and JobSeeker, they’re trying to introduce laws that will make it easier for your boss to cut your pay.

Only a Labor government will be able to clean up the mess that Morrison and the Liberals have created because only Labor is on your side.

Only a Labor government will be able to deliver a plan for more jobs and more secure work. 

We should be a country that makes things. We should be a country where you can earn a decent living with a full time job. 

Only a Labor government can deliver economic reforms like cheaper child care, and acting on climate change by creating clean energy jobs.

But to achieve that, we will need to campaign every day until the election to reach those crucial voters in the areas we need to win. We can’t do it alone, we need your help.

So as we head into the first sitting week of 2021, here are three things you can do to help. Whether you do all three, or just one, every bit of support you give will help build our campaign for the next election.

1. Running a winning campaign will cost money so if you can, could you chip in a donation to help us win the next election?

2. Can you sign up for Labor’s 321 Update? It’s our regular newsletter that will keep your finger on the pulse of Australian politics and will arm you with the facts you need to convince your mates to vote Labor?

3. Can you sign our petition calling on a National Integrity Commission? By doing so you’ll be helping us to hold the government to account and we can keep you updated on the latest scandals. 

It’s going to be a tough year. There are a lot of challenges ahead of us. 

But know this: Labor is on your side.
