Dear John,
Josh the monkey should have been living free in the jungles of South America.
Instead he was kept as a pet in the UK.
We do not know how he started his life, whether he was taken from the wild or bred by a breeder for the pet trade. But what we do know is that he should never have been sold as a pet into a life of misery and neglect.
John will you make a donation today to end the cruel primate pet trade and help monkeys like Josh? ([link removed])
As a pet Josh was re-homed four times, unwanted by his βownersβ. As a wild animal he would have found life in a human household very confusing. Monkeys bred for the pet trade are often taken from their mothers too soon, causing developmental issues and psychological damage.
That is why I am asking for your help today.
Right now, we are at a crucial time in the campaign to have the trade in primates as pets BANNED.
The Government have launched a public consultation into a ban on the trade in England and we have been busy rallying people to take part. We have submitted our own evidence to the Government of the suffering caused to primates kept as pets.
But the consultation shuts on 6th February so we must work fast!
Your donation of Β£10 or more today will ensure we can reach as many people as possible and secure the strongest response to this consultation to BAN this cruel trade! ([link removed])
** We only have until 6th February to take action!
Please don't delay in sending your campaign gift. ([link removed])

These cages are prisons to these animals. Monkeys like these should be living wild and free, climbing trees. Instead they are held behind bars.
DONATE NOW ([link removed])
To secure a ban on the primate pet trade in England would be so powerful. It would pave the way for similar bans across the UK. It would impact the lives of thousands of animals and prevent more animals being bred into a lifetime of misery.
It would protect individuals like Josh.
Freedom for Animals is taking action right NOW to ban this cruel trade. But as a small animal rights charity, we need your help.
Your donation of Β£10 or more will ensure we can reach as many people as possible and secure the strongest response to this consultation to BAN this cruel trade!
So please send a donation today to fuel the campaign to free primates from the pet trade ([link removed]) and keep them wild and free. Thank you.
For the animals,
Sam Threadgill
Director
Freedom for Animals
P.S. Right now we are fighting to end the cruel trade in monkeys as pets. But we can't do it without you. Please can you send a donation today? ([link removed]) Thank you!
If we raise more money than we need for this work, it will be put to use in our other campaigns to free animals from captivity. Thank you!
