Friend — tomorrow at midnight is our 2021 Membership Drive deadline, and it's a big one. Hitting our goal determines just how big we can go in our environmental campaigns — all year long.
This isn't a moment the environmental movement can come up short. Biden just announced sweeping new executive orders on the climate crisis, environmental justice, and the important role of science. The oil and gas industry has just gone ballistic — and everything's going to come down to what happens in the days ahead.
We have one more day to go, and we're still $18,133 from the goal.
Don't wait until it's too late — renew your LCV membership today — it only costs $5. A group of donors will triple match your contribution — and as part of the Membership Drive, they will match every contribution you make in 2021 »
Biden's orders to stop leasing for oil and gas on public lands and halt the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline are already facing backlash from the oil and gas industries, who are making quick work of spreading the lie that these measures will hurt our economy.
If that lie goes unanswered, it's a huge problem. The oil and gas leasing pause is temporary — if these industry groups are successful at pressuring lawmakers, it's going to be back to business as usual. It's up to us to show the American people the truth.
But we have only one more day to raise $18,133 to reach our 2021 Membership Drive goal. If everyone reading this right now pitched in — even $5 — we'd blow through that goal in minutes. So we're asking:
Please, renew your membership for 2021. Right now, all it takes is $5 »
We have seen incredible support: $5, $10, $20 — any donation, no matter how small, makes a huge difference in how we can keep up our momentum in 2021.
I hope you'll pitch in. We're up against industries with tons of resources and influence. The lies they're spreading, the policies they're fighting against, the legislators they're targeting — these are widespread, well-funded actions that put people's lives and public lands at risk.
We can and must win, but we need your help. Thank you, I know we can count you in.
Onward,
