Hi John,
Today, for the very first time, we are offering a streaming, on-demand weekly series of five videos, titled the Dacus Connection. In them, I establish a respectful dialogue with people dealing with issues of race, religion and gender. You won’t want to miss any of these weekly, thought-provoking, free episodes.
This week I interview Pastor Gale Oliver. Pastor Gale grew up in a Southern California city where over 120 gangs fought to carve out and control their “patch.” Gale describes walking down a street in his city as a young man, where if you turned left at a corner, you would be in one gang’s neighborhood and if you turned right, you would be in another gang’s neighborhood. As a teenager, he was shot and hit multiple times in a drive-by shooting, before that term was ever coined.
Pastor Gale endured discrimination from neighbors and civil authorities. But his mother raised him not to judge others by the color of their skin or their circumstances. Gale accepted the call of the Lord and has been pastoring for over 20 years.
Join me and Pastor Gale as we listen to one another and bridge the gap on this first episode of the Dacus Connection. Simply click this link to unlock access to the full 30-minute program.
