John,
Here’s the good news : Congress currently has the most out members ever, and our LGBTQ elected officials are hard at work to pass pro-equality legislation.
Here’s the bad news : some Congressmembers still refuse to support pro-equality initiatives and continue to introduce anti-LGBTQ legislation. Still others think LGBTQ people are something to joke about.
Here’s the latest in needless bigotry:
House Republican Greg Steube introduces anti-trans legislation that could lead to genital exams for school girls
His federal bill to ban transgender girls from sports is a direct challenge to Joe Biden's pro-LGBTQ policies. – LGBTQ Nation
Marjorie Taylor Greene, QAnon Congresswoman and proud seditionist, attacked trans people and misgendered trans student athletes, tweeting:
.@JoeBiden has launched a full frontal attack on women's rights, telling women and girls everywhere that a biological male can take your women's sports scholarship. Women's sports should be women's sports!
And in an attempt to insult Representative Matt Gaetz, who isn't know for his allyship, Rep. Liz Cheney’s spokesperson had this sexist and homophobic thing to say:
"Rep. Gaetz can leave his beauty bag at home. In Wyoming, the men don’t wear make-up.”
Look, LGBTQ issues shouldn’t face constant attacks and insults from elected leaders. Help Victory Fund defeat bigots like this and elect LGBTQ leaders who will protect our lives! [[link removed]]
