horse about to be whipped in race

Oppose the beating of horses!

Last year, despite a reduced racing calendar, we recorded 299 breaches of the whip regulations by jockeys. The vast proportion of these were for hitting their horses even more times than already permitted by the racing industry.

No animal should be hit with a stick. Help us achieve a ban on the whip by lobbying your MP.

Thank you.

New student factsheets

The education department has revised, amended and completely redesigned a new set of student factsheets. They cover topics as diverse as product safety testing, humane research, genetically modified animals in biomedical research and game bird shooting. The horse racing factsheet will be available soon. We think they look amazing and they'll be really popular. Please have a look.

If you would rather receive hard copies, just email Elaine.

Free the birds!

Across the country, many thousands of pheasants and partridges used for breeding purposes are imprisoned in cages. Their eggs are collected, hatched and the resulting chicks are reared on to become the next season’s feathered targets for shooters.

Animal Aid’s goal is to see an end to the killing of animals for ‘sport’. In the interim, we are pushing for an immediate ban on these horrific cages.

Ask your MP to support a ban on warfare experiments on animals

To date 98 MPs have signed EDM 291, which calls for a ban on the use of animals in warfare experiments.

We’d love to see this figure pass 100, so if your MP hasn’t signed, please ask them to do so today.

Thank you.
