DC workers demand safe workplaces The pandemic has made many jobs that are not typically considered dangerous potentially life-threatening for many workers. As DC gradually moves towards reopening in the middle of a deadly second wave, unions and their allies say that it’s crucial that the DC City Council take action now to ensure the safety of District workers. That’s why they’re calling on the Council to pass the Workplace Safety During the Covid-19 Pandemic Emergency Amendment Act of 2021. This bill will put in place several commonsense measures to protect District workers and ensure a responsible reopening of the District. The Council will be voting on this bill tomorrow; to send an email urging all Councilmembers to support the bill, CLICK HERE.
