John,
As we wrap up the first 2 weeks of a new administration, we've all been able to take a collective sigh of relief -- as we finally said
BOY BYE to 45. And we are ending the month celebrating our movement's nomination for the Nobel Prize.
We are also all too aware that even with these victories,
the threat of white supremacy lives on, and the fight to end it continues.
With our collective work last summer and a new administration and Congress, we're on the brink of obtaining substantial, radical changes for our communities across the country and the world -- but that doesn't mean that we can afford to sit back and relax.
Between the continued threat of violence (pre and post-attempted coup) at the Capitol, the state-sanctioned violence against Black people in all shapes and forms, along with insignificant coronavirus relief as the virus viciously rampages our communities --
these things all thrive in the roots of white supremacy, and we need to do everything in our collective power to put an end to it.
Our organizing and activism have proved that we have the power as the people to make real change in the world. If you believe in that work and are still committed to the lifelong work of racial justice, will you make a donation today?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
We are prepared to hold the new administration
accountable. President Biden ran on the promise of addressing racial inequities, and Black people, in turn, helped to deliver
the presidency, the House of Representatives, and the Senate.
What we want from this administration and new Congress is simple -- but in order to protect Black lives and build a democracy that serves all of us in 2021 and the future, we've got to keep up the momentum and continue our efforts in the fight for liberation.
If you're ready and able -- chip in whatever you can to make sure our new leaders in the White House and Congress take action for Black lives.
In love and solidarity,
Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation
