TRAUMA FOCUSED COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY
A significant part of the mission of Alliance For Children is to provide healing services to victims of child abuse and their families. While child abuse may affect every child differently, our clinical team is prepared to walk alongside children and families in this journey of healing to provide support, mitigate trauma and restore hope.
Some children may display emotional or behavioral signs of trauma from the abuse they experienced and require help with learning ways to cope and processing what has happened to them. Each person responds differently to trauma and there are many different triggers and symptoms a child abuse victim may experience that include trouble sleeping or nightmares, increased fear, feelings of guilt or shame, thoughts of dying or self-harm, irritability and problems with anger control, avoiding talking about the event, or regressed behaviors.
Alliance For Children offers healing services at no cost to victims of child abuse and their protective caregivers. Our clinical staff may refer a child to Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or TF-CBT. TF-CBT was developed by Drs. Anthony Mannarino, Judith Cohen, and Esther Deblinger as an evidence based, structured treatment model that effectively improves a range of trauma related outcomes. This model utilized by our trained therapists helps children and families navigate feelings, talk about the trauma, and help families plan for a safe future.
It is our greatest privilege to protect child abuse victims and support them as they heal from trauma by providing evidence-based therapy and empowering families Our therapist and families working together ensures that survivors of child abuse are supported and on the road to recovery. Alliance For Children is proud of the positive impact our Clinical team has made on the children we serve by providing a safe and healthy space for victims to share about their journey.
