2021 began with disturbing and tragic events in Washington, DC, but the strength of our nation’s laws, institutions, and democracy shone through. We’re hopeful that better times are ahead.
In our kickoff blog for the year, we welcome the new Congress and look at key changes in Washington for public transportation. We also highlight the need for lawmakers to quickly turn their attention to providing additional COVID-19 emergency funding for public transportation.
Our blog highlights the great opportunity for Congress to join together on infrastructure legislation, with public transportation front and center. Pete Buttigieg, who is expected to be swiftly confirmed as U.S. Secretary of Transportation, has said he wants to advance a bold infrastructure plan that includes public transit.
We hope you’ll continue to help advance our goals for public transportation by engaging with Voices for Public Transit throughout the year. Please read and share our latest blog and get ready to raise your voice.
Thank you,
