The results of the Senate runoff elections in Georgia offered proof that the South can help lead the way into a new political era. But the violence at the U.S. Capitol led by a network of highly organized white supremacist groups and encouraged by Donald Trump was a stark reminder that now is not a time for half measures in the fight against hate and extremism.

,

January 6 began with such hope.

The weeks of planning that went into the attack underscore why organizations like the SPLC, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, remain critical to this fight. Will you support our crucial work by renewing your 2021 SPLC membership today? <[link removed]>

We need people like you standing with us in this fight against the violent extremism that threatens our communities and democracy itself. Your support will also help us confront the systemic racism that leads to voter suppression, mass incarceration and so many other inequities. Thanks to committed supporters like you, we’ve made much progress over the past 50 years. But we must redouble our efforts during this perilous time.

Please join us in 2021 as we work to enact our Vision for a Just America <[link removed]>. We’ve laid out smart and clear plans to counter the cruel and hateful policies put into place by the Trump administration. And we’re working with great urgency – because there is no time to lose.

With your renewed support, we’ll take action in 2021 to:

* Confront the threat of white nationalism in America.
* Support a fair and equitable criminal justice system while working to end mass incarceration.
* Push to rebuild an immigration system that is just, humane and welcoming.
* Expand ballot access and eliminate discriminatory barriers to voting.
* Combat bigotry in schools and workplaces.

Please join us as we unite to uphold our deepest values and confront the historical inequities that continue to plague our nation. Act now to renew your 2021 SPLC membership. <[link removed]>

RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP <[link removed]>

Our nation, our society and our people need healing from the damage wrought by hate, extremism and white supremacy. We hope you’ll join us in our efforts to build a better, more just America in 2021 and beyond.

In solidarity,

Your friends at the SPLC
