Friend -- Following the attack at our Capitol earlier this month, I sent an email to our movement saying how holding responsible those who helped incite the failed insurrection isn't just about short-term consequences but that it is about building systems of accountability as well.
Organizations and movements including ours are calling for immediate accountability measures for those in Congress and in state houses who encouraged the failed insurrection. But we also know partisan politicians plan to avoid any electoral accountability for their actions -- it's why they've already invested in gerrymandering and voter suppression.
HEADLINE: Republicans still have one big card to play this year

We launched our new Democracy Restoration Fund to continue our work of holding self-serving politicians accountable in the long run. We set a goal of raising $30,000 by midnight tonight. Can we count on you to pitch in $15 or whatever you can?

The redistricting process this year is our chance to achieve sustainable accountability. We can prevent self-serving politicians from manipulating the system to undemocratically gain power to begin with and we need to be ready to make it happen.
