Newly elected Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has suggested that the school shooting that took 17 lives in Parkland, Florida was a “false flag.”
In 2018, when the shooting occurred, Greene brazenly claimed that “Nancy Pelosi tells Hillary Clinton several times a month that ‘we need another school shooting' in order to persuade the public to want strict gun control.”
We can't say we're surprised. This is the same representative that rose to power pushing QAnon conspiracy theories and election fraud claims -- and then incited a deadly attack on the Capitol once she got to Washington.
But we are concerned.
Gun violence is an epidemic in our country, and we need to address it. But Rep. Greene is just one of many Republicans who hold these views -- and they're the ones pushing back on reform in our legislature.
