With the first month of 2021 coming to a close, I want to take a moment to acknowledge all that we've accomplished thus far this year.

We started a new session of Congress with our Democratic House majority. We flipped two Senate seats in Georgia and reclaimed the Senate majority. And President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn in and have begun the work of undoing the damage done by the Trump administration.

We're on the path to getting our country back on track, but D.C. Republicans are already looking to take back both majorities in Congress. Historically, the president's party loses an average of 27 seats in the midterm elections. That means Republicans are favored to take back the House in 2022, and they're counting on doing it by flipping purple districts like WA-08.

We need to begin laying the groundwork for the midterm elections if we're going to ensure the Biden administration has a Democratic Congress working alongside them for progress.
