Welcome to The Agenda (yeah - THAT agenda), your weekly update on what's happening in the LGBTQ political world. Whatever you do, don’t forward it to Mike Pence. He doesn't need to know what we're planning! Forward it to a friend instead.

Overview: Our final 2019 endorsements, Alejandra St. Guillen advances in Boston, and Mayor Pete takes Iowa by storm!
48 MORE ENDORSEMENTS
Our last endorsement announcement for 2019 candidates! Earlier this week we endorsed 48 new openly LGBTQ candidates, bringing our total for the year to 172. Never in our 28-year history have we endorsed so many candidates in an odd-numbered election year.
We’re incredibly excited to endorse Eliz Markowitz as a Spotlight candidate. Eliz is running in a 2019 special election race for an open seat in the Texas state House and is considered a key pick-up in Democratic efforts to retake the chamber next year.
Want to learn more about Eliz's race and the current attempt to bring more LGBTQ representation to the Lone Star State? Start by reading this!
Another Spotlight endorsement: Todd Gloria is running to be the first LGBTQ person elected Mayor of San Diego – we’re proud to endorse Councilman Gloria again!
VIRGINIA IS FOR LGBTQ CANDIDATES
Excellent news from Virginia: our two Spotlight candidates, Danica Roem and Dawn Adams, outraised their opponents last quarter!
And while this gives our Spotlight incumbents a big advantage, it also means they have a huge financial advantage now that early voting has begun.
And Danica Roem isn’t slowing down: she’s canvassing like crazy for herself – and other phenomenal candidates!

TAKEOVER THURSDAY
Big news, social media fans! We’re starting LGBTQ candidate takeovers. During Thursdays in October, one of our endorsed candidates will be taking over our social media to give us an inside look into their race and life on the campaign trail. First up? Karl Frisch, running to be the only openly LGBTQ member of the Fairfax County School Board. Tune in next Thursday, October 3rd!

FEEL THE PETE WAVE
Mayor Pete Buttigieg has had an extremely busy week in Iowa.
He fired up the grill at the Polk County Steak Fry and had a tenuous encounter with a bee.
To generate some buzz (get it?) he and his team launched a bus tour, driving for four days across Iowa and meeting voters. The reviews are glowing!
Though the bus tour has concluded, Mayor Pete is not slowing down. He just announced a “Medicare for All Who Want It” plan. Catch up on the full breakdown here.

THAT'S A WRAP!
Congratulations to Alejandra St. Guillen, who advanced to the primary last week as a Boston City Council At-Large candidate! Alejandra will be the first openly LGBTQ woman elected to the Boston City Council.
Okay, one quick story about impeachment: Game Changer candidate Gina Ortiz Jones has voiced support for impeachment proceedings, citing national security concerns.
