When I think about the progress we’ve made over the last
few months, I am hopeful. We have succeeded in electing a
historic presidential ticket that has already begun to reverse
the cruel and extreme policies of the Trump era.

We finally have the leadership we need to rebuild our
nation.

We are up against enormous challenges.

COVID-19. Economic crisis. The climate crisis. A nation
deeply divided by race and class and a Congress still torn apart
by partisanship and politics.

Donald Trump has left Washington, but many of the
Republican lawmakers who boldly supported his disregard for the
rule of law continue to obstruct and delay our progress.

Despite their obstruction, I am hopeful that we are
turning a corner in history.

I am committed to working with President Biden and Vice
President Harris to build a better, stronger and more united
nation. We can meet all of our challenges, as long as we stick
together and defend our hard-won congressional majority.
