John,

Looking back on last week, President Joe Biden has already taken enormous strides in our fight for affordable health care, reproductive freedom, climate change mitigation, racial justice, and more. I know a lot of us feel like we can breathe a brief sigh of relief reading through the latest executive orders.

But I'm worried. I'm worried folks might take a step back from civic engagement now that Trump is gone. I'm worried people will forget why we were fighting in the first place. That's why I'm emailing.

It's true that we have the White House, but it was also only weeks ago when violent insurrectionists aided by politicians stormed the People's House. Our democracy is at its most vulnerable, and I need a grassroots team that is here to do this work for the long-haul. One that won't back down when the rest of the world has moved on.
