CAGW is making a difference! Here’s how.

Porker of the Month: California Governor Gavin Newsom

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) has named Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) January Porker of the month for hurting Californians with his hypocritical and ineffective COVID-19 policies.  Gov. Newsom drew outrage in November when he was spotted at dinner at the exclusive and expensive French Laundry restaurant with dozens of mask-less attendees, soon after he reiterated the need for Californians to both stay home and mask up.  He shut down both indoor and outdoor dining but allowed TV production to continue and gyms and ski resorts to remain open.  Gov Newsom’s unfair and inequitable actions have caused more than 50 business owners to sue the state and led to a recall petition that has drawn more than one million signatures.  For betraying California citizens and businesses, Gov. Newsom is the January Porker of the Month.  Read more about the Porker of the Month.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo Voted 2020 Porker of the Year

CAGW has named New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) the 2020 Porker of the Year for politicizing and delaying the distribution of new COVID-19 vaccines that will save lives.   In November, Gov. Cuomo claimed that America’s speedy vaccine approval process was driven by “the money and ego” of pharmaceutical companies and President Trump, respectively.  He announced that New York would set up its own analysis and review of the vaccine, further delaying its release even though it had already undergone the most rigorous review process in the world for quality, safety, and efficacy.  His failure to move quickly in December and January once the vaccine was received has now led to significant delays in vaccinations throughout New York State.  And this was all before it was revealed this week that Gov. Cuomo’s office understated by 50 percent the number of deaths in nursing homes caused by his policies last year.  Read more about the Porker of the Year.

CAGW Releases Two Issue Briefs on Government Reform

CAGW has released two new Issue Briefs on reducing wasteful spending and intrusive government regulations.  On January 4, CAGW released “Reducing the Cost of Government Through Effective Management Reforms,” which details how the federal government can reduce wasteful spending and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of federal programs.  This followed a November report, “Reducing Licensing Barriers Will Get Millions Back to Work,” which describes how hundreds of government rules have been suspended or terminated during the coronavirus pandemic, and why these temporary measures should made permanent to help boost the ongoing economic recovery.  Read the Management Reform and Licensing Barriers issue brief.

CAGW Launches 2021 Membership Drive

CAGW kicked off our annual membership drive this month.  As a result of the 2020 elections, the Far Left has grown stronger and more influential than ever before.  With Joe Biden in in the White House issuing dozens of executive orders undermining the positive economic achievements of the past four years, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) running Congress, Democrats now claim to have a mandate for higher taxes, massive new programs, and radical policies.  If they agree to push through President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 “relief” plan on a party-line vote, the total spent in response to the coronavirus will reach an astronomical $5.7 trillion.  This year, CAGW will be your voice in Washington at a time when our country’s financial survival is at stake.  But we will not be able to win our battles to stem the tide of socialism, which will bankrupt the country and restrict our freedom and liberty, without the support of our members.  If you have not already done so, please renew your CAGW membership or join CAGW today.
