Tonight is our first monthly fundraising deadline of the year, and I wanted to take a moment to explain why these emails are so important to the work I’m doing in Washington.

Many of my colleagues aren’t lucky enough to have supporters like you who respond to emails like this one, which means they spend more time dialing for dollars or at virtual fundraising events than doing their jobs. It’s not because they like doing it — it’s the reality of our broken, post- Citizens United political system.

Your contributions to these emails allow me to focus more on doing the work the people of Wisconsin elected me to do in the first place. Thanks to you, I can spend more time on issues like health care and COVID-19 relief, holding Donald Trump accountable for inciting a violent insurrection, and making sure my constituents get the support they need during this crisis.

That makes all the difference in the world, and I genuinely believe that your support makes me a better public servant for the people of Wisconsin and all those who need a voice in Washington.

As you may know, my work has kept me from fundraising this month. That means we’re behind on our first monthly goal of the year. So, I’m reaching out with the hope that you can step up one more time before the deadline ends at midnight tonight:
