Last week a coalition of organizations including the Young Center filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court of the United States ([link removed]) in opposition to the Trump administration’s so-called Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), also known as the Remain in Mexico policy, focusing on its harm to children. For two years, the Remain in Mexico policy has trapped more than 70,000 people, including tens of thousands of children, in dangerous conditions while they wait for their court hearings in the United States. On January 20, 2021, the Biden-Harris administration suspended new enrollments in the policy, but thousands of families and children remain in Mexico, stranded and forced to brave threats of murder, kidnapping, and violence in order to pursue their asylum claims.

Santiago, 16, launched Kids Inspiring Caring and Kindness to support our work with immigrant children by baking and selling cookies. In 2020, he raised $2,000! Thank you, Santiago!
"When I learned about the Young Center's work with children who come to the border alone or have been separated from their families, it made a big impact on me. I decided to have a bake sale and support their work because I believe immigrant children deserve better. They have a right to be safe. They have a right to feel that the grown-ups around them will protect them. I am thankful the Young Center is there to help children who may otherwise have to face the immigration system all by themselves."

You can donate to sustain our work, volunteer as a Child Advocate, become a Young Center Ambassador, become a corporate partner, or refer a child for appointment of Child Advocate.
