This deadline is a big one. Earlier this week, President Biden kicked off some of the most important actions on climate change in more than a decade — announcing a series of sweeping executive orders halting leasing for oil and gas on public lands, establishing clean energy targets, reducing emissions, and getting resources to the communities most harmed by pollution.

Now we're in for a massive fight. The oil and gas industry have already launched a well-funded pressure campaign targeting lawmakers in vulnerable seats. If that goes unanswered, it's a HUGE problem — the oil and gas leasing pause is temporary, which means we could be back to business as usual if it gets reversed.

Friend — going toe-to-toe with Big Oil is what we do here at LCV. We've won campaigns against them year after year — even when we're wildly outspent.
