In its last days in office, the Trump administration prioritized executing as many Americans as possible, pushing through three times more federal executions than our country had seen in the last six decades.
While Biden has pledged to halt federal executions, progressives don't think it's enough. That's why Rep. Pressley is calling for more expansive action to abolish the death penalty entirely, and Senate Democrats have introduced legislation to do just that.
