The American people have spoken and elected Democratic leadership in the
White House and Congress. But the far-right is still trying to set the
agenda. They want to be able to abuse the filibuster to block every
positive piece of legislation the Biden administration and Democrats
support. We can’t let that happen.

We cannot allow the far-right to hold progressive legislation hostage in
the Senate! It is urgent that the new Congress and administration be able
to enact legislation that the American people elected them to advance.

The right wing has used the filibuster to completely obstruct the agenda
of past Democratic administrations. They used it to hamper the Obama
administration and right now, it is the biggest hurdle in the way of
desperately needed and popular reforms to strengthen democracy and protect
Americans’ fundamental rights.

Currently, Senate right-wingers are preparing to block measures on a slew
of progressive priorities, including the expansion and protection of
voting rights, ending violent policing, ending big money in politics,
reproductive rights protections, immigrants’ rights, environmental
protections, and so much more!

Without a change to end the legislative filibuster, the far-right minority
will be able to obstruct this and other critical legislation and subvert
the will of The People as they have done all too often in the past.

If we let them, the right will inevitably abuse the filibuster because
they think they can gain political points with their base by fighting
against these popular measures.

By putting an end to the legislative filibuster, we can start passing

far-right political minority in our country.
