Senator Elizabeth Warren is demanding women be given more help to make it through this pandemic.
As she told CNN, “Women are getting hit in every direction. Low-income women and moderate-income women have suffered from greater layoffs, they've struggled with childcare, so that they can't get to work and, therefore ended up with more job loss.”
“This will have lifetime consequences.”
Warren has been a longtime champion for women and working families, and though she has faced criticism from both the left and the right for her progressive policies, she has shown a relentless determination to fight for us during this crisis.
We're proud that women have an ally to count on in Congress when we need it most. But there are many Republicans, and even some Democrats, who believe that Warren's proposals for universal child care and higher wages for child care workers and teachers are “too bold” and “impractical.”
