John,

Last year, I won re-election in one of the most competitive elections in the country. I am thankful for the opportunity to return to Congress and continue working for the people of Central Virginia, the community I grew up in, and the country I love.

On January 6, that sentiment came into stark relief for me. During the assault on the Capitol, I was in the House chamber as insurrectionists violently tried to enter, and after a few harrowing hours, my colleagues and I returned to the House chamber to perform our constitutional duty of certifying the 2020 election.

I am truly grateful to continue serving at this time in our nation’s history, and I thank all of you who volunteered your time and energy in support of our campaign.

As I work hard on behalf of my constituents and our country, I am looking ahead to 2022 when I will be running for re-election. To ensure I may continue serving this district, we must start building our 2022 campaign early. We will have many volunteer opportunities into the coming year, but today I am asking if you would consider making a contribution to become a founding donor of our 2022 campaign?
