With the Biden Administration vowing to relax immigration enforcement along the Southwest Border, U.S.-Mexico bilateral security cooperation rapidly deteriorating, and the Mexican government increasingly unable or unwilling to combat organized crime within its own borders, the United States is at a pivotal point in its relationship with Mexico. Transnational criminal organizations continue to flourish and corrupt political, military and law enforcement leaders throughout Mexico, while unprecedented quantities of deadly opioids flow across the border and onto the streets of the United States. This livestream will address the evolving security crisis in Mexico and the best path forward for President Biden's National Security Council and State, Justice, and Homeland Security Departments in mitigating the effects of that crisis on the United States.
