ISSUING AN EXECUTIVE ORDER TO PROTECT TEXAS' ENERGY INDUSTRY

[link removed]

[link removed]

Yesterday, I signed an Executive Order to protect Texas' energy industry from federal overreach.

Texas is a pro-energy state, and we will not sit idly by and allow the Biden Administration or local governments to destroy jobs and raise energy costs for Texas families.

My Executive Order will help ensure that federal government cannot take away the livelihoods of Texans who work so hard to provide our state and our nation with the energy we need.

LISTENING SESSION WITH CONSTRUCTION WORKERS, SMALL BUSINESS LEADERS

[link removed]

On Tuesday I held a listening session with construction workers and small business leaders in San Antonio to discuss how Texas can better support small businesses and workers in the wake of COVID-19.

Texas businesses have gone above and beyond to operate safely, and it's crucial that we continue to foster an environment that allows them to succeed. To expand opportunity and spur continuing job growth, Texas will maintain:

☑️ Low taxes

☑️ Reasonable regulations

☑️ A fair legal system

☑️ A prepared workforce

I look forward to continuing these conversations with business leaders and working with the Legislature this session to build a more prosperous future for every Texan.

STARTING OFF SESSION THE RIGHT WAY

We are starting this session like the last one: Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House, and Governor coming together to collaborate on an effective agenda to make Texas even better.

Plus, of course, the First Dog of Texas, Pancake.

TDEM ANNOUNCES STATE MOBILE VACCINE PILOT PROGRAM

[link removed]

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) have launched the State Mobile Vaccine Pilot Program in five counties: DeWitt, Marion, Real, Sherman, and Starr.

This program will help us ramp up vaccination efforts among homebound Texans, Texans 65 years of age of older, and among communities in need.

I thank TDEM, the Texas National Guard, as well as our participating city and county officials for working together on this important project. We will continue to develop strategies to vaccinate more Texans and keep our communities safe.

$16.3 MILLION IN GRANTS TO TEXAS MILITARY COMMUNITIES

[link removed]

This week I announced a new round of grants totaling $16.3 million to Texas military communities.

The funds will be invested in infrastructure projects and other initiatives to increase military value of these installations in Texas and protect jobs in those communities.

Now more than ever as our economy rebounds, support for our military communities in Texas and the jobs they create is vital. That is why I will continue to work with the Legislature and Texas Military Preparedness Commission to ensure that our military installations continue to add unmatched value.

THANK YOU TO THE TEXAS NATIONAL GUARD

The Texas National Guard returned home earlier this week, but not before proudly flying the flag of their home state.

We are grateful for their service at home and abroad.

INTERNATIONAL HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY

Wednesday was International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Last year, the First Lady and I were blessed to return to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem to pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust.

We must never forget the atrocities of this horrific time, and we must continue to fight for human dignity and freedom throughout the world.

PEACHES TURNS 3!

Happy 3rd Birthday to Pancake's little sister, Peaches!
