Friend,
We're now over a week into the administration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and what a breath of fresh air it's been!
On Inauguration Day, it was immensely moving to witness the peaceful transfer of power just days after our democracy came under unprecedented threat. Amanda Gorman's beautiful poetry filled me with amazing hope. And I thought of the millions of young women and girls who saw someone who looks like them make history by becoming Vice President.
Already, I'm so pleased to see President Biden take decisive action to end the last administration's hateful Muslim ban, rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement, move to raise the minimum wage for federal workers, reaffirm that science will have a voice in our government again, protect DREAMers, and lift the bigoted ban on transgender people from serving in our armed forces.
This is a time of immense challenges, but also great possibilities. I'm encouraged by the leadership shown so far in moving our country forward, and I'm excited for the work ahead in Congress that will deliver lasting and meaningful change for so many.
This can be truly a transformational moment in our nation's history. So I want to ask you to share your brief thoughts with me today: what's the biggest change you want to see over the next four years?
You can submit your answer below:
Thank you, and I'm looking forward to reading your responses!
