Dear Friend,

Since our first day in the Treasurer’s office, my team and I have worked to create jobs and help our state transition to a greener economy. We launched green finance programs at the state Infrastructure Bank that have invested over $140 million in alternative energy and energy efficiency projects across Rhode Island, putting 2,000 people to work.

To expand on the success we have seen these past six years, today we announced the launch of a new Green Jobs coalition. The vision of the coalition, which also includes representatives of the environmental community, labor unions, and leaders in the General Assembly, is to create thousands of good paying jobs while working toward achieving net zero carbon initiatives in our state, and prioritizing front line communities and communities of color that too often have been left behind.

We want everyone on the ground floor of this exciting new economy. There is much work to be done, but the opportunities are immense.
