Folks,

It’s no secret that women and especially women of color have long been overworked and underpaid for doing the same job as a man, or forced into the lowest-paying jobs altogether — leaving them struggling to support themselves and families.

The COVID-19 crisis has only exacerbated this issue as women continue to fight on the frontlines of this pandemic without being valued and paid equally.

That’s why I’m so proud that one of my first acts in Congress is to co-sponsor the Paycheck Fairness Act , which would help eliminate the gender wage gap and ensure that employers are held accountable for pay discrimination.

In Colorado alone, women make only 82 cents for every dollar earned by a man. That gap is even worse for women of color.

It's unacceptable that women are still making less money for doing the same job as their male counterparts — particularly with so many women in essential roles helping fight this pandemic. We must invest in our workforce and make sure Coloradans, especially working parents, aren’t left behind.

The Paycheck Fairness Act will help close the pay gap for good, but I can’t pass this bill alone. Will you sign on as a citizen co-sponsor of the Paycheck Fairness Act today? Send a message to Washington: [[link removed]]

Thanks for signing on to this important piece of legislation today. You sent me to Washington to get things done and pass meaningful change for our communities — this is just the start.
