Since our last Assembly, so much has changed. We defeated Donald Trump, took back the Senate, witnessed a violent insurrection and attempted coup at the hands of a Confederate flag carrying mob incited by Trump and Republican Members of Congress, and inaugurated a new president. And while this is a new year, we are still facing the same crises — so we can’t let up, not even for a moment, to fight to better the lives for working families.
On this month’s Assembly we will discuss what’s at stake and how we intend to push the new Democratic trifecta in the White House and Congress to ensure our hard fought victory was not in vain. Joining us on this Sunday’s Assembly is newly-elected Congressman Mondaire Jones and Nina Turner! RSVP to join the conversation.
Shortly before the election, we created the People’s Charter as a roadmap out of our current state of crisis, and to an America that works for the many, not the privileged and powerful few. As our country is rocked by a global pandemic, economic crisis, and a history of systemic racism — we know it doesn’t have to be this way.
Let’s be clear: We took back the White House and the Senate because working people came together to make a nation that cares for all of us. And we can’t waste a second making concessions to the Republican Party who has shown no interest in addressing the crises we currently face.
That’s why we’re building a movement to continue to push our elected leaders to cancel rent, provide recurring stimulus payments, end the filibuster, and pass Medicare for All. And it all starts with you, John.
So join us this Sunday as we discuss the People’s Charter with Mondaire Jones and Nina Turner, and we’ll share our plan to confront these crises together.
In solidarity,
All of us at the Working Families Party
