Jan. 29, 2021 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Evan Lips, communications director 617-523-5005 ext. 245 WOBURN -- Former US Senator and current White House “climate czar” John Kerry let slip this week that reducing America’s carbon footprint to zero won’t affect the climate in the least, but that didn’t stop Beacon Hill Democrats from once again passing legislation mandating net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Speaking to reporters, Kerry admitted Wednesday that “we could go to zero tomorrow and the problem isn’t solved” and acknowledged that “90 percent of the planet’s global emissions come from outside of US borders.” Kerry’s comments came as President Joe Biden’s administration indicated it will cancel permitting for the planned US-Canada Keystone XL pipeline, killing thousands of jobs on both sides of the border. Kerry later suggested to reporters that the laid-off workers can find jobs installing solar panels instead. “Even John Kerry knows that these job-killing measures won’t affect climate change at all, which must be why he has no problem traveling on his private jet,” said Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons. “Private jets are the worst per-capita carbon emitters on the planet, so thank you for doing your part, John Kerry. “Meanwhile, Democratic leadership on Beacon Hill is taking its cues from people like John Kerry, who like the rest of the Biden administration has made pandering to the radical left a priority, so expect more workers to suffer and energy costs to rise, but don't expect them to change their own consumption habits.” Link to press release Paid for by the Massachusetts Republican Party Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee Massachusetts Republican Party | 400 West Cummings Park, Suite 5650, Woburn, MA 01801 Unsubscribe
