 Take action today to permanently bury Trump’s plan Dear Supporter, Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of Trump’s disastrous so-called “Deal of the Century.” Not surprisingly, Palestinians were not consulted during the development of the plan, which reads like a wish-list for Israel to ensure its permanent separate-and-unequal rule over the Palestinian people. This year, we’re calling on President Biden to prioritize Palestinian rights, and as a part of that, we are calling on him to rescind this “deal” and make clear that none of its proposals should form the basis for any future US plans. It’s important for us to address this immediately because Secretary of State Antony Blinken has already indicated that the administration will not withdraw the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and will not relocate the US Embassy. Here are three ways you can take action now:
This horrible plan enables Israel’s illegal annexation of as much as 30 percent of the West Bank outside the framework of negotiations, precludes the establishment of a Palestinian capital in Jerusalem, denies Palestinian refugees their rights under international law, and forcibly denationalizes Palestinian citizens of Israel. Even any small semblance of Palestinian “statehood” in an extremely constrained and non-sovereign entity is made conditional upon Israel’s approval. The “deal” attempts to make Palestinians trade away their political and national rights for economic development plans under Israel’s apartheid control. The Biden administration must take the Trump administration’s plan off the table. Please help us turn up the pressure and visibility on this issue by taking these three actions today. In solidarity,
