Friend,

There are just two days left until the end of the month, and we have $2,574 to go to reach our goal.

Can you donate $10 to help push us over the edge? ([link removed])

This past year has been one of the hardest in recent American history. The need for federal assistance for housing, healthcare and food aid has reached crisis levels. And while we’re thrilled the Biden/Harris administration is increasing SNAP and Pandemic-EBT benefits, this is only a first step in addressing the nation’s joint hunger and public health crises.

The fact is, we cannot effectively solve either of these crises without addressing the systemic racial inequality at the root. Our non-white and indigenous neighbors are suffering from poverty and food insecurity at disproportionate rates. Non-white people are far more likely to live in food deserts than any other group and are far less likely to be able to afford healthier food, causing malnutrition, which correlates to higher rates of diabetes and heart disease, making people of color more susceptible to COVID-19 infection and death.

Economic and food justice will not be realized without racial justice.

And when it comes to food justice, we know what works and what doesn’t. We need more federal funding and federal policy to support our fellow Americans who cannot afford to meet their basic needs right now.

We’re prepared to advocate for this agenda and to continue pushing for the passage of Biden’s overarching economic recovery plan, but we need to hit our fundraising goal by January 31. Can you contribute $10, $15 or $20 to combat the nation’s hunger and public health crises? ([link removed])
