AFSCME Family,
To beat the coronavirus pandemic, bring the economy back from the brink and overcome the division and chaos of the last four years, we’ll need to continue working together at the top of our game.
There is already good news and forward progress. Already, more than 11 million people, including many AFSCME members, have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Just as importantly, we elected two champions for working families to lead our nation and changed the balance of power on Capitol Hill.
All of this has been possible thanks to your hard work and sacrifice. We’re here because you made your union voice heard.
AFSCME’s Never Quit Service Award was created to celebrate this kind of dedication, to honor public service workers who go above and beyond the call of duty. Nominate a co-worker here.
For nearly a year, front-line heroes — from nurses to sanitation workers to child care providers — have been putting their own safety on the line to be there when their communities need them most. With incredible courage in the face of uncertainty, you quite literally saved our nation.
At the same time, through your union, you made your voices heard.
When you didn’t have adequate PPE or resources to do your jobs safely, you spoke up with your union voice.
When you saw yourself and your co-workers being thanked for your hard work with pink slips, you spoke up with your union voice.
When the Trump administration and Congress refused to fund the front lines to support you and your co-workers, you spoke up with your union voice and held them accountable at the ballot box.
That’s the union difference.
Although great challenges remain ahead of us, we’ve made it this far thanks to your unflinching dedication and never quit spirit — a commitment to your jobs, your communities and your union.
Your work deserves recognition. Nominate a co-worker for AFSCME’s Never Quit Service Award.
In solidarity,
Pablo Ros
