Major pressure campaign underway? ? ? ? ? Friend ? we reached out on Wednesday with the breaking news that President Biden had just issued a series of executive actions halting new oil and gas leases on public lands, restoring science-based policy-making to the federal government, and expanding land and ocean conservation efforts.

The response has been intense ? in more ways than one. This has triggered a firestorm within the oil and gas industry: Major industry-funded pressure campaigns are now scaling up, targeting members of Congress in vulnerable seats.

We're also seeing responses from people from all over the country pitching in with $5, $10, $20 donations ? many becoming LCV members for the very first time, and many making monthly contributions.

We're now gearing up for a showdown in the days ahead ? but at the end of the day, the campaigns we can run depend on the resources we have. We're trying to raise $24,131 more before the end of the month to reach our 2021 Membership Drive goal.
