Friend,

Joe Biden's climate presidency is off to a strong start.

We're back in the Paris Agreement, the federal government is committed to buying zero emission vehicles, and President Biden revoked the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline—actions that we and activists across the climate movement have spent months pushing for.

But this is only the beginning. We have been working on bold climate plans that match the urgency of this moment. We won't make them a reality by simply patting ourselves on the back. We need to keep the pressure on to make sure the Biden administration continues to take quick, decisive action on climate.

Our first fundraising deadline of the Biden presidency is on Sunday, and we've set a bold end-of-month fundraising goal of $15,000. The funds we raise between now and our deadline on Sunday will go straight to our bold climate plans, including pushing climate to the center of next month's confirmation hearings and new policy papers that will go directly to the highest rungs of power.

Donate today to meet our $15,000 end-of-month fundraising goal and to ensure we can push climate to the top of Biden's agenda in his first 100 days.

Here are some of our goals coming up in February:

  • Confirmation Hearings: Every agency must be a climate agency. The upcoming Senate hearings are crucial opportunities to make sure that the leaders of our federal departments understand the urgency—and the profound potential—of this moment. That's why we've released (and put in the hands of press and policymakers) climate policy priorities achievable by every agency. And it's already working: Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen referenced several ideas similar to our recommendations in her hearing.
  • Policy Memos: We've published papers on offshore wind energy, equity mapping, and preventing the next economic crash through bold climate policy. The press and policymakers alike have been taking note—and there's a lot more where that came from.

Our advocacy is working and showing up in the plans of policymakers from Congress to the Cabinet. But we can't let up now: Hitting our first fundraising deadline of the Biden presidency will keep our team going hard.

Chip in to our $15,000 end-of month goal before our deadline on midnight Sunday to keep bold climate policy center stage at this month's confirmation hearings and at the top of policymakers' agendas.

Thanks,

Becca Ellison
