John,

Despite Republican outcry, Speaker Nancy Pelosi delivered the Article of Impeachment to the Senate earlier this week to permanently ban Trump from office.

In response, Cori Bush demanded the Senate convict Donald J. Trump and made it clear that “the House needs to pass my resolution to investigate and expel the GOP members of Congress who sabotaged our democracy and incited the insurrection.”

And while Donald Trump might be enjoying his time in Florida, NY Attorney General Letitia James -- who opened investigations into Trump's tax evasion -- has asserted that “Trump cannot avoid justice in the great state of New York.”

In these challenging times, we're grateful to have bold women in power who refuse to back down against the far-right extremists trying to take over our government and are determined to hold the GOP accountable. But we want to keep it that way, and we can't help thinking we're in trouble.

Republicans are already talking confidently about taking back the Senate with pro-Trump candidates. Pelosi is leading a razor-thin Democratic majority after the GOP made House gains with conspiracy theorists like Marjorie Taylor Greene. And the Republican National Committee raised over $10 million to fund pro-Trump candidates in the first few days of Biden's presidency.

Meanwhile, grassroots organizations like ours are falling behind -- and if we don't raise another $15,000 by the end of the month we'll need to scale back our efforts to support progressive women's campaigns.
