Welcome to the Number of the DayJanuary 29, 2021Sixty-eight percent (68%) of voters believe the United States provides its citizens with more freedom than just about any other major nation. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 19% disagree, and 13% are not sure.[1] There is a generation gap on this question. Senior citizens, by an 80% to 7% margin, believe the U.S. provides more freedom than other nations. However, the youngest voters—those 18-24—are evenly divided. Just 44% of them believe the U.S. offers more freedom, while 39% say it's not true.[1] A majority of every other measured demographic group believes the U.S. offers its citizens more freedom than other nations.[1] The survey also found that 83% believe it is very important to protect the freedoms and rights of individual Americans.[1] About the Number of the DayEach weekday, Scott Rasmussen’s Number of the Day explores interesting and newsworthy topics at the intersection of culture, politics, and technology.
