Dear Friend,
The official whistleblower complaint against Donald Trump has finally
been released, and it's jaw-dropping. The whistleblower, a CIA officer
detailed to work at the White House, documents how Trump pressured
Ukraine to make up dirt on Joe Biden to help him win reelection. Trump's
own Director of National Intelligence called it "totally unprecedented."
This is a crisis moment for our democracy, and these are the times when
our non-profit, independent journalism is so critical to making sure the
public knows the facts and Trump faces real accountability. Will you
make a donation to help fund Common Dreams's non-profit, independent
journalism throughout the Trump impeachment crisis?

The facts piling up around Trump are simply stunning. Trump repeatedly
asked Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to launch a bogus
investigation into Hunter Biden. He used U.S. military aid as blackmail.
If these actions don't qualify as "high crimes and misdemeanors," then
nothing does. But major media outlets still refuse to simply say the
obvious fact: these are impeachable offenses that demand Trump's removal
from office. They report "both sides"—the truth and Trump's
lies—equally. They focus on the horserace impact on the election. Some
are even shifting the focus to Biden with headlines such as, "Why
Trump's Ukraine scandal could backfire on Biden." But Common Dreams will
never pull punches or hold back from reporting the facts—as long as we
have the support of you, our readers. Will you make a donation to help
fund Common Dreams's non-profit, independent journalism throughout the
Trump impeachment crisis?
