Dear Comrade,

Akron DSA continues to fight the conservative "Democrat" plan to frack in our watershed that threatens our health and our environment. Though council didn't discuss the deal during the 1/25 meeting, 1.5 hours of public comment against it went on record. The city responded to this by "retiring" the public comment email. We're asking you to use the only remaining public comment feature, leaving a voicemail (3 minutes or less) at 330-375-2566, to tell them you still oppose this deal by 2/1 at 4 PM.

Akron DSA has also signed on to a statement with other local left organizations condemning the fracking deal, which falls far to the right of the DNC platform. Please share this form with other organizations that might be interested.  We were recently mentioned in The Plain Dealer and interviewed for an upcoming story on WKSU. Several letters to the editor have been submitted, and one has been published. We will be hosting another community meeting about the fracking deal on Saturday, 1/30 at 2PM with our friends from Akron Our Revolution and The Big Love Network. Our next general meeting is 2/25 at 6PM. Join our fight!

In solidarity,

Akron DSA Steering Comittee
