It has been just over a week since President Biden's inauguration and we have already taken major steps to begin reversing the harm caused by the Trump administration - but there is still much work to be done.
While most of the work has resulted from ending Trump's executive orders, there are many legislative battles ahead in Congress and we'll need your support and advocacy to help push these landmark bills across the finish line.
This updated congressional directory will provide you with decision makers’ contact info right at your fingertips - so you will have the tools needed to make your voice heard as legislators deliberate and vote on progressive measures (and we'll be sure to keep you up-to-date on when we need you to act!).
And there is A LOT on our agenda:
- Passing sweeping reforms at the federal and state levels to build an inclusive democracy by protecting voting rights, expanding ballot access, getting Big Money out of politics, and strengthening ethics rules.
- Passing desperately needed COVID relief measures to mitigate the impact of the pandemic and to ensure there is a plan to deploy the vaccine in an efficient manner.
- Filling federal judiciary vacancies with fair-minded, highly qualified members of the legal community who can bring both demographic and professional diversity to the bench.
- Restoring civil rights and protections for Black, Latino, Muslim, LGBTQ and other vulnerable communities.
- Enacting reforms that eliminate police violence and reconceive community support programs across the country in order to eliminate the overreliance on policing.
- And that's just to start...
People For is wasting no time to mobilize on these key issues by communicating our priorities to the Biden administration and to key congressional offices. We will be unrelenting in our efforts to advance these proposals that strengthen the American Way for ALL, and hold those accountable on both sides of the aisle who fall short and stand in the way of progress.
