I’m reaching out today to announce Truth to Power’s January goal. It’s a little different than usual, so let me explain why we’re setting this goal:

The Goal: 400 individual contributions before January 31st at 11:59 p.m. PT.

The Reason: We need to grow our resources and build our movement to unseat corrupt politicians backed by big money in 2022. We need to flip seats in the House and Senate to bring even more lawmakers to Washington who will fight for working people. In short: we need to start this work now, and we can’t afford to fall short of any fundraising goals this year.

The Barrier: When the rich and powerful built our current political system, they made rules that let money influence policies more than the people. That’s why I, and our other candidates, don’t accept corporate PAC money—so we can continue to represent working families without outside influence. But it also means we receive less money to run our campaigns—and to political insiders, they view that as a weakness.

But there’s power in numbers, and by making a donation—of any amount—to Truth to Power today, you are helping demonstrate the strength of small-dollar, grassroots supporters. If we receive 400 individual contributions by the end of January, we’ll be able to demonstrate the true power of our movement.
