Dear AMP Community,
AMP has grown immensely over the last few years in order to meet the growing needs of our network (you!). One year ago, we announced our intention to shift towards a co-leadership structure ([link removed]) to nurture this growth into the future. We are proud to announce that Jenifer Daniels has joined our team to share the position of co-executive director with Jeanette Lee.
A Detroit native, Jenifer brings over two decades of experience in the fields of communications, participatory media, organizational development and leadership as well as deep commitment to advancing the city’s social justice, cultural and innovation ecosystems. Prior to joining AMP, Jenifer spearheaded the relaunch of Wayne State University’s Innovation Studio, which is designed to help students learn the ideation and prototype stages of business development. In 2015, she developed and launched Colorstock, a stock photography startup featuring images by and of people of color. Daniels also founded Detroit Human Capital, a micro impact fund investing in Detroit's people, places and purpose.
“I am excited for Jeanette and I to leverage our individual expertise to build Allied Media Projects’ capacity and model the shared leadership we want to see in the world,” said Jenifer. “We have an opportunity to be a central part of shaping a more equitable future for Detroit. The foundation that Jeanette has established over the past 14 years will allow us to steward this growth, make deeper investments in Detroit and set a precedent for other cities.”
