But there is also new energy, and new reason for optimism. Last Sunday we joined 153 leaders from across the world—from labor to climate to business to government—and signed a letter published in The New York Times. Its message? President Biden: You Can Be the Climate President.

We’re already seeing progress. The United States is back in the Paris Agreement. More and more companies are setting bold sustainability goals. President Biden is acting on climate—evidenced by a recent flurry of executive orders, including elevating the climate crisis to a national security priority.

Ceres has been pushing for all of these changes for years, and we are ready to redouble our efforts in the year ahead.
