Hello —
The current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour hasn't been raised since 2009. It’s totally inadequate and must be significantly raised.
That is why, last week, President Joe Biden said he will raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour for federal workers. Now, we need to do the same for all American workers.
For too long, Congress has given tax breaks to the rich while millions of workers are forced to work two or three jobs — and still have to choose between rent, health care, and food each month. It’s a disgrace.
With Democratic control of the White House, the Senate, and the House, we must raise the minimum wage of $7.25 an hour to at least $15 an hour by passing the Raise the Wage Act. Sign my petition if you agree:
Today in America, you can work 40 hours a week and live in poverty. But, together, we can make sure folks can live and work with dignity by giving working families everywhere a raise.
I’m fighting to pass this important legislation that would raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, and I hope you will join me because this isn’t just about good policy — it’s about doing the right thing.
Thank you.
