John,

On his first day in office, Biden signed 17 executive orders. He rejoined the Paris Climate Accords. He reinstated ties with the WHO. He bolstered DACA after Trump's many threats to end the program.

He also signed an executive order to end the 1776 Commission, a blatant and appalling project of the Trump White House that attempted to push a conservative version of America's founding. Their report calls for “patriotic education” that glosses over the racism and discrimination that are inherent to our history.

There's no other way to frame it -- this report was propaganda. And we're so glad that Biden struck it down.

But eliminating Trumpism in our government isn't a project that will take a day. Many of Trump's most ardent supporters, such as Josh Hawley and Marjorie Taylor Greene, remain in office, advocating for the 1776 Commission's vision of America. And as Trump warned as he was departing the White House, “We will be back in some form.”

At A Woman's Place, we're devoted to removing Trump's dangerous ideology from the places it still persists in our government. We've got a lot left to do -- which is why we cannot miss our first monthly fundraising goal of Biden's presidency. But right now, we're short $1,109 of our January goal.
